Whats a safe way to test the clocks? Are they 12V etc. I'd hate to burn a good one up trying to check it. Chuck in NH

56 and up were 12v. I hook a ground wire first then connect the hot wire to the battery and hold it for a few seconds to make sure it isnt burning up and if not do something in your shop for a few minutes and then  see if the hands have moved. I have 55 bird and am changing to 57 dash. My cousin is making the instrument cluster out of Burlwood. I have all the instruments but the clock. Carl on this site has one waiting for reply to buy it.
