| | Gary: Those are obvious sleeves you see. Also notice how narrow the area between the two center cylinders is. Also, look at the water holes. They show that the block is filled with hard block. This engine is definitely being prepped for short bursts of speed, like in drag racing. It's not going to stay cool on the streets. John in Selma, IN

| The subject of big bores & the possibility of a new bigger block has been kicked around both here, & extensively in YBM. Frankly, this is all a waste of time & paper. It must be 10 yrs now that attempts have been made to cast new aluminum heads. It hasn't happened. So, the chances of a a bigger block in a streetable form ever happening, is slim & none! The Ford/Merc Y-Block was designed over 55 years ago! There are already vintage bigger Ford blocks out there if people just have to have more displacement. Our Y-Block is what it is, even with a stroker kit, an engine of under 350 inches. Love it or leave it...

| | Thank you, John, for your expert input. I didnt notice the solid filled water jacket, I should have. Thank you, Paul, for that hard cold dose of reality. I for one am guilty of dreaming of big cube Y-blocks. If I want big block cubes, I should stick to the Lincoln Y-block engine. The LYB is a big block and has much potential there. Thank you very much, John and Paul. |

| Gary: If you need a Lincoln engine, there were 3 advertised for free (in the letters section) sometime back, in YBM, issue #78.
