I have a ´57 ranchero with 351c and FMX. I have nothing negative to say about the FMX so I´d like to keep it in the car, but the 351 is a really boring engine if you ask me.

Last winter i bought a ´57 272 to put in the car.

Can I get the FMX to fit the Y-block with parts from later y-block automatics. If it is so, from witch automatic and witch parts do I need?

Johan:

Find a '59 or later Y Block flywheel, torque converter, and front pump.  You can use any Y Block bellhousing, but '54 to '56 have provisions for air cooling, which you don't need.  Drill two top holes in the FMX case to match the bellhousing, and everything will bolt up.
