After that is out, you can access the spot where the cable is anchored to the sliding part.  In my instance, it came out pretty easy. My front parking brake cable broke near the parking brake pulley. I took the park brake mechanism out and bead blasted and painted it. I am waiting on a new front cable to replace the broken one and I need help/advice on installing the new front parking brake cable.
