Its no bargain. If I were to spend that kind of money, I would want to know the shop, know that they put in it and watch them do it. No warranty, no return and no Paypal means a buyer has absolutely no recourse except giving the guy negative feedback.

I wouldn't touch that motor with a ten foot pole. 7 grand is too much, it is on Ebay which is another sketchy thing, warranty for rebuilt engines are pretty tough to exercise even with well know national companies selling contemporary engines. Modified or vintage stuff like this is best bought from those you know and know how to do it. The 292 that was or is on the classified list here built by Tim would be a much better buy at less than half the price.

After reading about (and chatting) how Tim fires and does the cam break-in, then checks everything out makes his seem like a better approach to buying a rebuilt engine in my opinion...

I NEVER buy "rebuilt" engines/tranny's unless I know the builder personally...

I recently bought a "rebuilt" 472 for my F-100 (future fire-breather) from a junkyard. Right? Got it really cheap, and it's beautiful inside and punched +.030" but it's still coming all the way down.

Not bashing the item in question, but that's a lot of $$ to throw at something with so many variables.

Whether this engine is worth the price with the accessories is debatable but what bothers me more than anything is the absence of a warranty of any kind and that would be a deal killer for me...

Yes you can re-bush rockers, I have come across many sets like that and as Charlie Mc said if they don't make then you can always make or find something that will fit.

I do think it is a bit high but if you get everything that is pictured it might add up. I get about $3600 +/- for one of my engines but I don't sell them with all the accessories. From the pix it does look like nice work. This is not an endorsement, I have no idea who this guy is or who did the work! :P

Even if bushings weren't readily available, they can be made. Sounds high to me. I think the same or better can be done for about half that price.

When I had my 312 rebuilt, the machinist rebushed my rockers. He found some that were close to the correct ones and machined them to fit.

Have a look at item #200448284882.Its a rebuilt 312 drop-in.$6995.00 and looks good.However there is NO WARRANTY.Price seems a little bit high but maybe not.Also claims the rocker arms are "rebushed".I didn't think bushings were available to do that?What do you think McTim?
