The plan is to bring the '60 to Eagle Field in May, the Bird to the one in October, but we'll see. If I don't bring either, someone should kick me in the nuts...:hehe:

To say I'm excited is an understatement guys...and thanks for the unexpected bump to the top of the classified list, which is what got YBLOCKMERC's attention. He's a helluva nice guy...hope he hangs around here a bit more...Thanks Marc!

I started looking for a set of these when I got the Bird (August '08)...I've lost 3 ebay auctions, just missed them on Craigslist twice, and had lame scammer attempts at fordbarn.com a few times...

Also appreciate all the other guys who've been keeping their eyes out for me!

You can bet I'll take pictures when I get these polished and installed...

I have set of the legendary shevybrock valve covers.They are porely made and dont fit right.No matter what I tryed I couldnt get them to seal up ,they leaked just like a scrub timing cover.The holes in the top dont line up good enough for them to seal up.Yes they are actual Y-block covers and not from a old rocket or stude covers.And somebody drilled a breather hole in one,but I could weld a piece in easily.The way they are now ,they are unuseable.

And I am still looking for my unicorn...as history has shown me, I usually find what I want when I am not looking for it. Maybe it's time to stop driving myself nuts over these things.

I have nice chromies to dress things right now. When the Edelbrock's come, I'll be ready...

Yes, those diagonally finned ones are nice, i also am looking, i believe they are called Bud covers, these were on ebay a few years back.

I lucked out and found a pair incorrectly listed on Ebay last year. They are out there, this pair was pretty rough but I spent all winter sanding and polishing them to perfection. Last week, a family member called and said that he had just sent me a pair of really nice TBird covers in nice shape. Now all I need to find are the diagonally finned models. Keep the faith!

Darn tootin I would...probably 2 sets. As the originals usually change hands in the neighborhood of $250-300, I would expect brand new polished could realistically sell in the $300-350 range, which would put them close enough to the Offy, Fenton, and Moon covers to generate interest.

A funny side story, I found a guy up north with a "Y" powered '59 F100. He was asking $600 for his ratty truck, but he had a set of NICE Edelbrock covers on it. I offered him $300 plus a stock set of valve covers and he declined. Were I closer, I just would have bought the truck and flipped it after swapping the valve covers.

John,

The original owner was Everett Booth, he and my uncle raced boats. My uncle bought it from him in '57 and held onto it ever since. When I pulled it out of the barn last fall the most recent receipt was from 1987, and from all indications had been in storage since approximately that time. Probably should start a new thread, but below are some pictures as found:

Note the '57 non-porthole top. The original porthole top is on my uncles '57 to this day...I kind of prefer the non-porthole myself for looks, though I am 6'6" tall, so the top is ALWAYS off...

Hard to see, but the 94's are all matched, same set-up since '57:

The Edelbrock covers have been around forever, they come in 2 styles. and are often on ebay. regards aussie bill.

The car had a bored, stroked, ported, cammed, etc. 312 built and swapped in by Vic Sr. (and Bobby Meeks?) in late '56. The original owner was my Great Uncle's racing partner, my Great Uncle bought it from him in '57.

The car still has the 553 intake with 3 matching Holley 94's, along with an early prototype set of Hedman headers, built by Bob Hedman according to the original owner...after the radical 312 (actually a 330+) scattered, the only things that remain are the intake, carb, & headers on a replacement 312.

I don't know that it ever wore finned Edelbrock valve covers in it's day, but I feel they'd be appropriate...

A set will turn up sooner or later...

i have set of edelbrock finned rocker cover,s on my 56 vicky also a triple carb manifold too #573.but there not for sale .but they look good.i,ve tryed to send a pic thru photo bucket but all that happens when i cut & paste the pic is all the wording of the print.
