I tried to bid on a1966 Ford Galaxie wooden steering wheel on EBay. Theseller told me it would not fit ,no reason. Maybe the splines are different on a 1966 Ford. Does any one out there know?:

I can't say for sure that the 66 will fit your 56, but  I know that the same Grant steering wheel adapter for Fords fits many years.  If you have a speed shop or parts store that carries Grant steering wheels maybe they would look it up for you to see if they are the same.

Back in the early 70s I used a 69 boss mustang wood grain steering wheel in my 56 crown with no real problems but it may be different from a 66?

My favorite steering wheel to use on a 56 ford passenger car is from a 56 T-Bird which is slightly smaller and easier to steer with because it is smaller and you can retain the original horn ring.Another plus is it has more and better design features in it and can be color matched to your ride.

I don't know if the wheel would fit or not,but unless I'm mistaken, that wooden Galaxie wheel is worth a bundle, because they were only used on 7-Litre models.Pretty rare cars.A total of about 3800 built.

Thanks for the info about the steering wheel application for my 56 Ford  Vic, I'll have to go to my neighborhood speed shop and check their catalog. John
