Anybody know whats happening with the site? I can't get to it and get a "site may be for sale" message. Did he drop the name, change locations or what? If nothing else I will put the information up on my site if he would send me the entire website as a package. Chuck in NH

Chuck, seems that I remember some time back that he was going to sell off the site, but keep the information...I never knew what became of everything. Too bad! Great bunch of information, and some of that stuff I really need right now...

The site NAME appears to have been hijacked by somebody over in Russia.  It costs about $8 a year to own a domain name and apparently the name registration was not renewed.  Some A-hole registered it for $8 and now wants a lot of money to sell it back to the rightful owner.  It is actually "parked" and is for sale.

An option is to use "The way back machine" on the internet which is an archive of web pages in the past.  It is not the speediest and some of the content is missing depending on which date you try to retrieve, but it can get you to some of the info previously stored there.  Just use  Google and search on THE WAY BACK MACHINE, you'll find several links to sites holding archives of old web sites.  Search for vs57.com and you'll find various dates that the site was archived.  Typically, the most recent one is unavailable, but so little changed on the site in recent years, much of the resource material is still available if you chose an older date to look at.

If anyone knows how to contact Jim, I would like to send him an e-mail and offer my services to help him get the site back up.  I work with computers for a living and might be able to help him if I can figure out how to get through to him.

I've tried to contact Jim a number of times, with no response. He's sold the Mercury and moved on from the vs.57 site. There have been a number of efforts by HAMB members to get hold of him also with the same result. I think maybe John Erb would be the best bet, he was pretty active on the site with ads and answers in the forum.
