In Charlie Burns posts on his build of the Comet, I spotted the front wheel tire combo, and I use this set up on my cars..for drag racing, and find no problem.. Just got to get it past the tech's.. Tire wheel combo cost me $25.oo a piece..

I met a guy in El Paso that ran the Baja 1000 with a dune buggy. He used the small spares on the front and said they worked fine. Chuck in NH

My brother and I are not unaware of the safety limits molded on the tires, and the rims, But I'am drawn back to the hills mountains of Pennsaltucky and West by God Virginia, in Y-block powerd Ford and Mercurys running on bias ply tires.. Pegged the speedo several times.. ?? So I don't see a safety problem going in a straight line for 1320 ft.. give or take a few feet..

Y-Guys       When the"space saver"  tires first came out ,I think it was

Pontiac, that put a "set" at all 4 corners  of  a firebird and drove it around

           the lower 48 states. ( 7/8000 miles I recall) and they didn't

carry a spare! They were trying to show the durability to the public.

Sooooo, that said, I think they're fine on the falcon, and we all

know the falcon proabably "carries" the front ones several feet anyway!!!

They also work pretty good as a spare....

This one is from a Mercury Marquis - 15 inch and has no holes in it - I need a second one if anybody has a lead on one....
