| Guys, My 292's oil pump pickup leaked at the pump and at the pan so I'm installing all new gaskets to take care of the problem. Previous owner gooped everything up with RTV in an attempt to stop the leaks. The old neoprene seal that is compressed into the side of the oil pump looks like it has some small steel flanges on it. The replacement one is just a neoprene donut without flanges. Do I leave the steel flanges on the tube and just replace the neoprene portion or should the flanges be removed with the old seal? Thanks, Nick in WI

As the new oil pump sleeve does not have the metal flange, simply install the sleeve without the flanges. Remove the old metal flanges from the tube and discard. Use the new metal flanges only if they come with the new neoprene or rubber sleeve.
