I just put a what is apparently a 57 FOM in my 56 car and discovered a couple of differences that I had to contend with.Namely the mount on the X-member and the shifter.I got both of these problems ironed out without too much trouble,but after I got all finished with the install and started it up,I find my speedometer turning backwards.Anyone know if the drive gear is opposite in the 57 transmission?

Ford did have gears on the bottom of the cable that ran both ways. I think it depended on what side of the trans that the cable went into.
