For those who do some painting and are in a bug prone area, porcupine quills have a small barb and sticky surface on the tip. if you get a bug in the paint they are the best at pulling them out, all you have to do is just touch the bug with the quill and it will stick to the tip without smooshing it around trying to pick it up otherwise.

So when you see that road kill, don't just pass it by, grab a few quills or take them out of your dogs face when he gets into one.
